C5 Corvettes are now 10-15 years old and because of age and use, they are showing signs wear in several areas. Modified Corvettes, LLC has found one of these areas to be the mid-pipe exhaust section on all 1997-2004 Corvettes. If you are considering upgrading your Corvette’s exhaust or bolting on a set of aftermarket mufflers – you should pay close attention to your Corvette’s mid-pipe or specifically the flanges bolting the mid-pipe to the muffler pipes. We’ve found several instances where this flange is cracked or broken due to many years of undercarriage vibration. If you’re considering upgrading your mufflers, then it may be wise for your to consider the installation of a new X-pipe at the same time.
