GM Performance Parts ups the ante on the LS1 with a higher-lift camshaft and higher-compression pistons to push horsepower from 350 to 405, and torque from 340 lb-ft to 400 lb-ft. Features include: 3.90" x 3.62" bore/stroke, cast aluminum block with 6-bolt main caps, nodular iron crankshaft, powdered metal connecting rods, hypereutectic aluminum pistons, hydraulic roller camshaft (.550" intake and exhaust lift with 204 degree intake duration and 218 degree exhaust duration @ .050"), aluminum cylinder heads, 2.00" intake, and 1.55" exhaust valves, 10.5:1 compression ratio, investment cast, roller trunnion rocker arms (1.7:1 ratio). Maximum recommended rpm 6,500. Does not include ECM or wire harness.
