09-13 w/NPP B&B Fusion Exhaust System - 4.5" Oval Tips

The BBE Fusion is a bi-modal exhaust system, meaning it has two passages, or modes, that the exhaust can travel through the muffler. Each muffler has two outlets, with one side having a butterfly valve which allows the exhaust flow to be shut off, regulating which side of the muffler the exhaust flows through. One side of the muffler is the "quiet" side, and one side is the "loud" side. The "quiet" side is a smaller, muffled and chambered tube, while the "loud" side is 3" straight through tubing.

The butterfly valve is controlled by a vacuum valve, built and developed by BBE Performance Exhaust. On the 2008 & later C6 Corvette with the NPP option, this valve is controlled by the ECU (computer). The valve opens based on RPM and throttle position. Factory exhaust can be very quiet, even with the valve open on factory mufflers. The experts at BBE Performance worked hard to get the right "tone" for your C6 Corvette. In the closed position, the tone is deeper, louder, and more aggressive than stock. Open the valves, and the overall volume and tone increases to the point heads will turn when you drive up, similar to the famous Bullet systems.

What if your Corvette does not have the factory NPP option - but you'd still like to have the bi-modal exhaust? BBE developed their own retrofit kit which allows a non-NPP Corvette to utilize bi-modal exhaust. The 2009-2013 Corvette system is 2 1/2" and can be combined with a BBE Performance X-pipe (optional mcc # ) for even more exhaust flow.
